ReFrame Media's Kids Corner Airs Series Finale

After over 250 episodes, listeners said farewell to the residents of Terrene as the popular children's audio drama series called Kids Corner aired its final episode on the radio. The final episode is titled “Make A Difference!” and it aired on June 23, 2018. It concluded the 20th season's story arc and also brought an end to one that started in the 1st season.

The producer of the show Ron VandenBurg explains: "We made the difficult decision to discontinue producing new Kids Corner episodes following a recent decision by the board of Back to God Ministries International, our parent ministry, to relocate our headquarters to Michigan. The move meant we would lose our studio and production staff. It would also significantly increase production costs and would adversely impact the number of new episodes we could produce."

Kids Corner actually traces its history all the way back to the 1980s. The original program was very different from the one listeners are used to now. ReFrame Media acquired Kids Corner in 1999 and began airing new episodes in 2004 with the format changed to a more linear story format that current listeners are familiar with today.

As for the future of children's media from ReFrame Media, there are no plans at this time to produce a new audio drama. However, Ron VandenBurg says "that door remains open." They are currently testing potential new content streams, including a YouTube channel and an online Bible study and app supported daily children’s devotional.

Even with the show ended, you can still access and download the full catalog of all 265 episodes (the current format, not the original) available in several different ways on their website. There, a listener can search the episodes by character, by theme, and by season. In addition to the Kids Corner episodes, there are also 35 audio Bible stories. All of these resources are free.
