Welcome to 2025!

Several great audio dramas were released in 2024. Some old shows made a long-awaited return while some new series were launched. As busy as last year was, there are many more stories awaiting us in this new year. Let's go through some of the audio dramas we know about that will be released this year.

Jake Muller Adventures

One of the biggest audio drama events last year was the return of the Jake Muller Adventures. The second installment, Blood, was released with much fanfare. Fans of the series won't have to wait long to hear the third album, Undead, as that one is set for release in either March or April 2025. Recording for the fourth album, Engineered, will take place this March and is tentatively scheduled for release later this year.

New Birth Audio Productions

Two new shows were set to be released last year from this production house. Those have now been pushed back to 2025.

Reckoning of Cowards, the first installment of The Bayou Noir Series is now scheduled for April or May.

The standalone Western drama The Claim is now tentatively scheduled for August or September 2025.

HeartMatters

The first HeartMatters audio drama of 2025 will be released later this month. Entitled Life: Time, this is a sci-fi drama having to do with time travel. Throughout the rest of the year, listeners can look forward to hearing a superhero comedy, a follow-up to A Pig Tale, a medieval fantasy, a Western, and a contemporary story told from three different perspectives.

First Acts Productions

In 2024, Glenn Hascall released 3 stand-alone stories, launched 3 new series, and added some new episodes to existing series. First Acts Productions is not slowing down this year.

A second follow-up to Wednesday's Weather called The McSwiggan Effect will drop all 6 episodes of this micro audio drama series on Valentine's Day.

Another micro audio drama series will debut in the fall called Breakfast with Robin. It's a humorous take on the character of Robin Hood. 7 episodes are planned to release all at once.

A new series called Rekindled will release in 2025 with 3 episodes. Episodes of this sci-fi story will start releasing this summer.

A somewhat mysterious story called The Nook will be releasing this fall.

A total of 6 new episodes of Range Drifters are coming between now and June. Episode 2 actually dropped on Dramafy today. There have been teases that of a crossover of sorts with a character from another audio drama series will happen too, so be on the lookout for that!

Fans of the Dragnet: Biblical Investigations will be happy to hear that more from that series is on the horizon. An episode focused on Noah and one on Ruth will be released in October and November respectively.

Two Christmas audio dramas are also on the schedule. The Cobbler, The Cabbage and the Christmas Cup and Mistaken (A Christmas Tale) will release sometime before Christmas Day.

Shadows and Daylight

Shadows and Daylight started releasing Season 2 in 2024. Originally planned to release last year, the 2-part Christmas special God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is set to now be released in 2025 sometime before Christmas.

Eternal Future Productions

The first episode of Venture was released last year. Fans of this Star Trek parody series can look forward to some more episodes to drop in this new year.

Resurgence, the period romance story written by Alicia Hansen, Jonathan Cooke, and Glenn Hascall, was originally supposed to release in 2024. That story will finally come out this year. Tentatively, the release is set for this summer.

As for Pirateers, Season 4 might start releasing later this year. Time will tell!

LRT Media

Another LRT Media Sherlock Holmes production is also in the works. Titled The Hound, this audio drama will adapt the classic mystery The Hound of the Baskervilles. This one is expected to drop sometime in the first quarter of 2025.

The long-awaited return of Chapel and Squeak will finally happen in 2025. No word exactly when it will happen but multiple episodes are planned.

Listeners will be able to find out what happens next with Robin and Marian soon. Robin Hood: Rising to Honor will be returning next year. Season 2 of this joint effort between LRT Media and Eternal Future Productions is set to release in Spring 2025.

Lamplighter Theatre

Two new book adaptations (Hand on the Bridle and Kelly Nash: The Boy Who Didn't Think) are set to release sometime this year. These audio dramas were recorded at The Soundhouse in London. This marks the first time in over 5 years Lamplighter has recorded there.

Adventures in Odyssey

Album 78: At Face Value will be released on CD, digital download, and air on radio in the next few months. This album contains the 1,000th episode of AIO. Club members got to hear it early last month but everyone else will get to hear it soon. Album 79: 11th Hour will start releasing in the Club this summer while Album 80 (title TBA) will start releasing in the Club in December 2025.

Before all that, the special live episode that was performed last August for One Grand Party will be released to AIO Club members by the end of this month. That one is entitled One Thousand Blessings.

Porchlight Family Media

Our very own J.D. Sutter is moving along with more episodes of One Day in Aspen Creek, the series he launched in 2024. 5 episodes are planned for release this year. In addition to Tom and Kate, we'll also hear from more residents of the town including a teacher at the high school.

The Jesus Film Project

The Road to Kaeluma, the first-ever audio drama production produced by The Jesus Film Project, in partnership with FamilyLife, will be released in the Summer of 2025. This fun, comedic, and action-packed five-episode series, is a reimagining of a classic Bible story set in a fantasy world. Perry Wilson and Landon Hawley, creators of The Road to Kaeluma, hope the story's biblical and relational themes spark conversations for the whole family to engage together. Some familiar names are attached to this project. John Campbell is composing the music for this story while Bethany Baldwin, Andy Harvey, and Kera O'Bryon are among the cast.

There are so many new audio dramas that are coming out this year. And this is just a list of things that we currently know about and have enough information to share! 2025 looks like it's going to be another banner year for audio drama in the family-friendly space.

Which shows are you most excited to hear? Are there some we missed? Let us know in the comments!
